Jerry A. Fisher
Bringing 30 years of leadership, problem-solving and organizational experience to his role as CEO, Jerry A. Fisher believes that success in business requires adaptability, attention to detail and continuous growth. An entrepreneur himself, Jerry appropriately named his consulting company Verto Laurus from the Latin words Vertere and Laurus, meaning ‘turn around or change’ and ‘victory or succeed.’
While he started his career as a quality leader on the shop floor at KS Centoco, Jerry’s organizational skill allowed him to move up within the company to a managerial role. He then went on to lead operations divisions in companies across various industries. Among his responsibilities were: strategically guiding all activities within his departments, mentoring management teams, engineering strong and profitable capital plans to turn around struggling divisions, streamlining processes and helping to resolve labour negotiations.
Jerry’s organizational expertise and experience have proven transferable across a variety of businesses. Lear Corporation Canada Ltd. recognized his efforts and accomplishments with the President’s and Chairman’s Award for best facility in the corporation. At Accuride Canada Inc., Jerry devised and implemented plans that reduced the operating cost of their Business Unit by 10 percent over two years. At Con Cast Pipe he successfully led divisions with 10 years of loss to profitability in just six months.
On top of his proven organizational success, Jerry is also passionate about helping individuals develop into problem-solving leaders. As a consultant and a Trusted Advisor Chair, he shares his innovative and entrepreneurial spirit with developing leaders while offering them fresh perspective and insight.
Jerry earned his Honours BComm degree and Executive MBA from the University of Windsor. He has held a Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) designation from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) and successfully completed academic requirements of the Society of Management Accountants program. Jerry continued his education throughout his career, participating in courses in leadership, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ergonomics, continuous improvement, strategic management, and MRP systems.
In his free time, Jerry enjoys continuing his lifelong learning and getting involved in the community of Dorchester, where he resides with his family. He has served as both Registrar and President of the Dorchester Minor Hockey Association (DMHA), and has been certified as a Level 1 coach with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association since 2005. Jerry is a member in good standing of the Thames Centre Business Association and participates as Vice President on the Executive Committee.
Jerry also belongs to London Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Municipal Affairs Committee. The Committee interacts with various City of London departments and leaders in an effort:
